my question is how long does it all take when you do a second application to get a family fund grant , is it the same as the first time.. our first one took alomst 4/5 months in total last year..

see you from kerry..

Hello Kerry

It depends upon how many applications they have to deal with. I have applied for a number of years not only for my son but helped others too (my son is approaching 16 so no more for me after his 16th birthday). But I have waited between four weeks to four months because of the backlog of appications.

Good luck with your next application

they say they got our application on the 11th june she said it can take upto 10 weeks , she said it could be sooner..

ive asked for :

holiday
spending money for holiday
clothes , shoes money as well.

i feel cheeky asking for things , this is the 2nd time now , our 1st time we had driving lessons for me and holiday spending money for our holiday..

the lady that came out last year said we should ask for a holiday next time we apply.. we have booked our little holiday to south wales its very cheap £485.00 we have payed the deposit of £80.00 .. i just hope we here before we go away..

see you from kerry..

Hi everyone, This will be our 3rd Year of applying to the family fund.We were initially told about the FF from My daughters family aid worker,The first year we applied we were given money to spend on a holiday for the family, a washing machine, dishwasher and a bed. The 2nd year my daughter was offered a Laptop or a desktop PC, she opted for the laptop this has helped her immensley with her GCSE's, and a trampoline. My daughter is now 14 and has been diagnosed with ADHD for the past 9 years.Im sure being in reciept of DLA may help with the application.

Have only recently heard of the existence of the Family Fund, and after struggling to find enough to pay for a week's break in Ireland out of my Incapacity Benefit + the last few months some extra help in the form of DLA , I wonder if I can apply retrospectively for help? I shall certainly apply BEFORE our next holiday, though. Can I do it on-line?

Im not sure of they are recieving on line applications, I do know you can download the forms(there are a few you need to complete) and print them off, and then send post them in, thats the way I have done it.

Mandy...Have you thought about possibly calling them and asking them to have a look at your application again.

thanks bumpybean for your reply,i have thought about it but it says on the letter that they would look at the decision again if theres any additional imformation that would help them reconsider, but how much more do they need to know, ive put nurses names and doctors names and her medication and the care i have to go through every single day but it seems it just not enough which i dont understand..
