Power Pack for wheelchair

Re posting about stairlift. The OT suggested I think about getting a power pack to help with pushing the wheelchair, funding for this hopefully won't be a problem as there is a local charity that will buy them.

I'm debating seriously about getting one, but I'm wondering about accessibility as we can get to a lot of places with a folding wheelchair, but I assume it would stop us folding it up to get into cafes as where we live has quite a few listed buildings that we can get in at present, but would be bit more tricky if we couldn't fold the chair.

HI there
I have one that I bought off ebay for a few pounds--the battery clamps to the wheelchair as does the drive wheel- it takes just a few seconds to take it off and fit it again-and is small and light enough to carry around.
The one I have is just called a WDU (wheelchair drive unit ) and was made by sinclair -of C5 fame.
Hope that helps
Ken
