Hi everyone, especially in the chatroom.
As some of you know I haven't been in for a while,as my son has been home. He teaches in Thailand and this is his first visit for almost 3 years. We've had a really great timeand I was going to pop in over the weekend as Phil went up to Bristol for a re-union with his friends from University, but we had some really bad news.
My Aunty Gwen, who has been my Mum since my mum died, died very suddenly in the early hours of Friday morning.
My Dad collapsed with a stroke on Friday afternoon and died in the early hours of Saturday morning.
There wasn't time to get to Gwen as she died before the ambulance got there, but most of us got there for Dad.
As you can guess, losing one from each side, my whole family is in pieces, but we are very close in spite of the geographical distance.
Will get back to you, love Jeanx

Mon 16 Oct 2006 14:19Oh Jean, so sorry about the terrible time you are having. It's good that your family are close and supportive even if you are apart geographically - you can help each other cope with this devastatingly difficult time.

Re: Why I haven't been in touch
Mon 16 Oct 2006 21:52Thank you , will be in touch but haven;t time to talk much at the moment. Dad's funeral is Friday and Gwen's is Tuesday, which gives everyone time to get here (Devon) and Birmingham.
Thanks again for your support, it means a lot.
