need advice on cares allowance

can any body give me advice on care allowance will it affeced my tax credied and my housing benfit thanxs Yes emoticon

i claim tax credit and carers money it is classed as earnings on the tax credit forms but not sure how much is taken into account sorry cant help more. why not get in touch with tax office and ask advice x

Demilea, which type of tax credit are you getting?

In theory, if you qualify for carer's allowance (even if you don't actually get it) that adds a £25 premium onto the income support limit, and I'm fairly sure the same goes for housing benefit. Best to check with the CAB or equivalent though.

I work for The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, if you look down the right hand side of this post there are some links with benefits information.

However if you email web@carers.org with the town where you live I will also be able to give you your local Carers' Centre details and they will be able to give you more specific advice.
