The Carers' Unit is part of Adult and Community Services (formerly Social Services) and acts as a central point for information and support for both carers and professionals. Staff work with both carers and Social Services and Health teams to improve services to and the quality of life for carers. Priorities are centred around assessments for carers, providing a sitter service, consulting carers and identifying gaps in services.
The Carers Unit and the Association work jointly to make sure that all carers have access to the information, support and advice they need both now and in the future; we share the services of the Carer Information Officer works with, and for, both organisations.
