South Warwickshire Carers Support Service

In Your Place

In February 2006 a New Carers’ Service was introduced:

Are you caring for an older person in South Warwickshire who is ill or frail and needs your support at home?

Are you concerned about who would provide care if you were involved in a crisis or emergency? Do you have plans for what you would do if you were needed urgently somewhere else in the country or if you were ill?

The 'In Your Place' service provides short-term, home based respite support to carers in crisis or emergency situations.

It can also provide carers will the opportunity to take planned, one-off breaks from their caring role so that they can get a much needed break that will enable them to “recharge their batteries” and carry on caring.

Following a Carers Assessment from Social Services (contact Warwickshire County Council Social Services Department on 01926 410410 for more information), Allied Healthcare Group will visit you at home to register you with the service to enable you to call on support 24 hours a day and all year round, including weekends and bank holidays.

These services are available to adult carers who care for other adults aged over 65.
