Training
NEWCIS also provides a comprehensive training programme for Carers. All courses are aimed to provide Carers with practical skills or information that may help with a caring role. There are also a number of courses that aim to help Carers cope with stressful situations and with reducing their own stress levels.
All courses are free of charge with a lunch provided during all day sessions. Examples of some of the courses available are:
- Coping with stress
- Moving and positioning the person they care for
- Basic First Aid
- Coping with Challenging Behaviour
- Introduction to IT
NEWCIS can assist carers to attend training courses with help towards respite care costs and transport.
