Money and Benefits for carers

Researching and getting access to all the benefits that carers and people with care needs are entitled to, whether financial or non financial, can be a confusing and frustrating process.

Most people in the UK are likely to qualify for some kind of welfare benefit or tax credit at one time or another, but many miss out because they don’t know what they can claim. Benefit entitlements should be assessed on a regular basis as personal circumstances can change and also benefit rules continually change.

Over the years, Swansea Carers’ Centre has developed a long and well established record as an advice and information service. In November 2005 Swansea Carers’ Centre was granted Alternative Office status, and is now authorised by the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions to receive benefit claims from people aged 60 or over for:

We offer confidential benefit checks and form filling and will also offer advice and support if it is thought that a benefit has been unfairly turned down.
