The Princess Royal Trust Carers Service (Berkshire)

Help us Shape the Future

Work on an ambitious three year plan to shape the future of the Carers Service is underway – and we’d like to hear your views.

The service is reviewing the way it works in order to ensure it continues to meet the needs of carers while making the best use of its resources.

Chief Executive John Shaw said the plan aimed to build upon the high levels of satisfaction with the service already recorded among carers.

He said: “Our main focus remains the need to support and inform carers about services, benefits, activities and learning opportunities and to promote carers interests.

“However, we are always seeking to improve and find new ways to ensure carers of all ages and from all sections of the community are identified and supported.

“It would greatly help our planning process if you would tell us what matters to you.”

We’d like your views on:

• What should our priorities be? For example: providing information; someone to talk to; making home visits; running support groups; arranging social activities; organising training courses or raising awareness of carer issues.
• Do you value the ability to drop in to see us or do you prefer to make an appointment?
• Is it important for us to have a base in Reading town centre?
• Do our opening hours at Cross Street meet your needs? (Currently, carers are able to drop in without an appointment every weekday morning (except Thursday) between 10am – 1pm). Should we vary the times our service operates?
• What other things could we be doing to help make carers’ lives easier?

Your opinion matters, please let us know your views. Write to us at FREEPOST PRT Carers Service, call us on 0118 950 5177 or email john@prtberks.plus.com
