Anita Evans
Assistant Advocacy Co-ordinator
Anita runs the North Highland Advocacy Service, which is based in Invergordon and provides a local service for carers in Caithness, Sutherland and East Ross. She recruits and trains volunteer advocates in each of these areas as well as providing advocacy for carers herself.

Marion MacNeil
Information Coordinator
Marion provides the Information Line for carers, offering relevant, local information and making referrals to appropriate statutory and voluntary services. She maintains the Carers Network and statistical database, compiling reports on a regular basis and also maintains the carers' lending library. She produces the Carers Network Bulletin quarterly, providing an update on relevant information for carers and produces the Information Pack for Carers, distributing it to professionals and carers throughout Highland. She is also responsible for disseminating project leaflets and issuing press releases when appropriate and arranging publicity for the service and helping to organise events.

Tina Morrow
Advocacy Co-ordinator
Responsible for managing the Advocacy Service, which takes referrals direct from carers, from both statutory and voluntary organisations and also from other departments within the project. Tina manages her own caseload as well as allocating cases to other staff and volunteers and providing supervision and support for the staff and volunteer advocates. The Advocacy Service helps carers who are experiencing problems with a service provider to raise their concerns or perhaps to make a complaint, depending on what the carer wishes to achieve.

Kathleen Murray
Carers Connect Co-ordinator
Kathleen is organising telephone support groups for isolated carers who may not be able to access traditional forms of support. She is linking small groups of carers from all areas of the Highlands, through telephone conferencing facilities for a weekly social chat. Kathleen also provides one-to-one support prior to linking carers together. The project is funded for 3 years through The Big Lottery as part of the Connecting Communities initiative. Kathleen has been a carer for 25 years for her son.

Frances Nixseaman
Young Carers Development Officer
Responsible for the implementation of a strategy to support young carers across Highland region, working closely with Social Work Services, Education and Health, as well as existing voluntary sector providers. Also working with Youth Services and voluntary and statutory sector Drug & Alcohol Services, linking closely with integrated service planning structures in children's and community care sectors.
Frances is also responsible for disseminating "Information & Support Packs for Young Carers" throughout Highland and a regular newsletter "Clatter Bags" which is distributed widely to professionals and young carers alike. Frances can also provide information about grants and holidays for young carers as well as organising occasional events/activities.

Mollie Tweedie
Volunteer Co-ordinator & Caseworker
Responsible for supervising volunteers and organising recruitment and training of volunteers to work within the Advocacy Service for Carers. Mollie also manages an advocacy caseload over and above her duties as volunteer co-ordinator.

Kirsteen Wood
Young Carers Worker
Kirsteen is working with Frances Nixseaman, assisting with young carers service development. She produces Clatterbags, a newsletter for young carers and will be responsible for keeping the Young Carers Information Packs up to date.

Diana Wortham
New Craigs Relatives Advocacy Worker
Responsible for working with the relatives of people resident in New Craigs Hospital long-stay learning disabilities provision. The hospital is planned to close in 2005, and residents are expected to be moving into homes of their own in the community. Diana is responsible for ensuring that relatives are kept involved at all stages of the process and are provided with all the information they need during this time. She works with relatives on an individual basis, to help them raise any concerns they may have, and also on a group basis, through relatives' meetings.
