Meriel Bryson
Carer Support Worker
Meriel joined the organisation in February 2006 and has a background in community learning. As Carer Support Worker, Meriel's responsibilities include, assisting carers to identify their needs through assessment, accessing carers to services,providing emotional support and liaising with external agencies.Meriel also facilitates our Carers' Book Group.
Meriel is based at our Clydebank Carers' Centre and works 17 hours per week.
Jonathan Cairns
Trainee Receptionist/Admin Support
Jonathan's post has been created under the Future Jobs Fund. Jonathan joined the Carers' Centre Team in June 2010 and he works 35 hours per week. Jonathan is based at the main office in Clydebank and his role includes reception work and a variety of admin support.
Joanne Davin-McGinley
Carer Support Worker/Volunteer Co-ordinator
Joanne has been seconded from social work services to assist the organisation with the implementation of Carers' Assessments. As Carer Support Worker, Joanne's responsiblities include assisting carers to identify their needs through assessment, accessing carers to services, offering emotional support and liasing with external agencies.
Joanne is also employed by the organisation as Volunteer Co-ordinator. Her responsibilities within this post include, developing a volunteer initiative,promoting and supporting volunteer activities and identifying and recruiting volunteers.
Joanne oversees the outreach services at the Citizen's Advice Bureau, Alexandria on a Monday and the Learning Disability Resource Centre, Dumbarton on a Tuesday. Outwith these times Joanne is based at our main office in Clydebank. Joanne works 21 hours per week as a Carer Support Worker and 7 hours per week as Volunteer Co- ordinator.
Annemarie Kinch
Administration Worker
Annemarie is based at our main office in Clydebank and is responsible for providing admin support to the centre manager and staff. Annemarie is also responsible for Database management.
Annemarie joined the organisation in August 2004 and works 21 hours per week.
Bernadette McGaughey
Senior Carer Support Worker
Bernadette's responsibilities are to assist with the development of carer services in line with carers' needs.This includes identifying hidden carers, awareness raising, networking and engaging with external agencies. Bernadette also deputises for the Centre Manager in her absence.
Prior to joining the organisation in August 2007, Bernadette worked within Community Care with Glasgow City Council. Bernadette oversees our outreach services in St Augustine's Church, Dumbarton on Wednesdays and Riverview Resource Centre on Thursdays. Outwith these times Bernadatte is based at our main office, in Clydebank where she has a key role in the day to day running of the centre.Bernadette works 28 hours per week.
Kim McNab
Centre Manager
Kim's responsibilities are to work in partnership with the Board of Directors and advance the organisation's objectives, to develop services in line with carers needs and to ensure the effective day to day management of the service, including staff and resources.
Kim has a background in nursing, specifically dementia care. Kim has been with the Carers' Centre since January 2003 and was appointed Centre Manager in May 2007.
Marie Reid
Administration Worker
Marie is based at our main office in Clydebank . Marie is responsible for providing admin support to the centre manager, staff and Board of Directors. She also has a key role in the development and maintenance of the organisation's finance systems.
Marie joined the organisation in August 2007 and works 14 hours per week.
Suzie Sturrock
Carer Support and Development Worker for Health
Suzie's post is initially funded for 18 months by NHS Carers Information Strategy funding. As Carer Support and Development Worker for Health, Suzie's responsiblities include working closely with our health service colleagues to develop the Carers Information Strategy in the area. Suzie will focus much of her time on supporting and developing services for carers of those with a long term condition i.e. Chronic Obstructive Airways Disease and Diabetes.
Suzie is based at the main office in Clydebank but also spends much of her time between the Vale of Leven hospital and local GP practices.
Suzie's joined the organisation in April 2010. She has extensive experience of homelessness, addictions and mental health and before joining Carers of West Dunbartonshire worked for many years with the Simon Community in Glasgow.
Patricia Thomson
Assistant Carer Support Worker ( sessional)
Pat joined the organisation in January 2006 following her retirement from her job as secretary with West Dunbartonshire Council.
Since joining the Carers' Centre, Pat has trained as a walk leader and now co-ordinates the Carers' Walking Group which meets regularly. Pat also provides assistance to the Carer Support staff on a sessional basis.
Joan Watkins
Carer Support Worker
Joan joined the Carers' Centre in October 2009. Joan has a background in Social Work and has extensive experience in Community Care.
Joan's responsibilities include, assisting carers to identify their needs through assessment, accessing carers to services,providing emotional support and liaising with external agencies.
Joan is based at our main office in Clydebank and works 25 hours per week.
