How can Oldham Carers Centre support you?

The focus of the service is to be inclusive of all carers from all communities and to encourage carers to become actively involved in shaping services. If you are a carer over 18, Oldham Carers Centre may be able to offer you free and impartial support for example:

  • Accessing our Carers Emergency Support Service
  • A one to one Carers interview on registration to the centre
  • Accessing practical and financial help
  • Holding regular drop ins at the Pheonix Centre and in the community
  • Accessing a free Carers Leisure Card
  • Accessing the Carers Flexible Grant
  • Accessing our Carers Advocacy Service
  • Accessing membership to the local Carers Voice
  • Accessing Information e.g. Carers Assessments, Carers Magazine, Carers Information Pack and Carers Guide to Benefits booklet
  • Providing training e.g. Caring with Confidence, Moving and handling, IT skills and building networks in the community
  • Encouraging Carers to support one another
  • Access to social, leisure, employment and volunteering opportunities
  • Support Carers to voice their concerns and positive experiences
  • Help Carers to construct life stories with the person they care for
