The Princess Royal Trust Knowsley Carers Centre

Staff

Jan Box

Health Link Worker

In my role as Health Link Worker I am trying to forge stronger links between Knowsley Carers Centre, our partner agencies and GP practices. Front line workers in primary care such as practice nurses and receptionists as well as GPs have a lot of contact with patients who are also carers. We want to keep all these staff well informed about services and assistance available from Knowsley Carers Centre. Working with primary care staff we can help to identify hidden carers in the community. Over the past six months, many GP practices across Knowsley have agreed to nominate a carer link whose role will be to work with us to keep carers and staff up to date and help to maintain a high profile for carers across the borough. The Carer Link electronic newsletter is now available to all our carer links as is carer awareness training provided by the Knowsley Carers Centre Team.

If you have any information to include in our Carer Link newsletter, please contact me on Te: 0151 549 1412

Dominic Covell

Carers Support Worker

As Carer Support Worker my main aim to offer both support and where necessary advocacy to our registered carers. I am also responsible for identifying “hidden” carers, to again register them and offer our support. In our advocacy role, we will work on behalf of carers both by phone and in writing to ensure we are able to access services they require. My colleagues and I are happy to meet up with carers in our new facility in Bewley Drive, Kirkby or if it suits we can arrange a home visit.

I am also responsible for organising trips, social events as part of our all year round program and facilitate training sessions with other organisations; to ensure together can find and support the “hidden” carer.

Matt

Carers Support Worker

I am a Carer Support Worker with Knowsley Carers Centre. having recently been a "hidden carer" for several years I appreciate how difficult it can be to find help and support.
I now offer support and advocacy to registered carers, help run the support groups and attend outreach across the borough of Knowsley to try and uncover and assist hidden carers.
