Works alongside the person cared for; Carer Relief Workers provide stimulative support either at home or in and around North Tyneside, accessing community facilities. The support sessions usually last 3.5 hours and can be provided throughout the day or in the evenings up to 10pm, giving the carer an opportunity for a break.

- Carrying out assessments for the Sharing the Caring project.

Mental Health Development Worker
Carer Support Workers provide emotional and practical support to carers in North Tyneside, liaising with professionals to secure appropriate services, making grant applications and providing advocacy.
They also identify and work with groups of carers who are under supported and develop support opportunities within North Tyneside. Another aspect of their work is ensuring the specific needs of young carers are met.

On a twice weeky basis an Aromatherapy service is offered to carers, to help alleviate tension & stress.
