An independent charity providing free, confidential information to carers of all ages who live in Stockport
Signpost Stockport for Carers has been running for over 24 years and was established to assist carers of all ages and ethnicities in the borough of Stockport to achieve an acceptable quality of life whilst undertaking their caring role. We now have sections for Young Carers (aged 6-18), Carer Breaks (awarding grants for carers to have a break from their caring role), Carer Support (emotional support) and Carer Liaison (assistance with forms for Carer Allowance, Disability Living Allowance and Attendance Allowance).
We have recently been awarded a grant from Social Enterprise Investment Fund towards the cost of a Carer Centre for Stockport, and we have now moved into this property. Target beneficiaries are informal carers – unpaid people providing help and support to family/friends that could not manage, or live independently, without their help. Carers of all ages and ethnicity, including young carers, will be encouraged to use the centre.
