If you look after someone who can't get by on their own, whether it is your partner, relative, friend or neighbour you're considered to be a carer.
A carer is someone, of any age, who provides unpaid support to family or friends. This could be caring for a relative, partner or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or substance misuse problems.
At Salford Carers Centre we can help you access a wide range of services that could help make things easier for you. Carers have different needs and the Centre can assist you with helpful information, practical advice or support in your caring role and concerns such as: health issues, equipment, entitlements, Carers Personal Budgets, or emotional support. Carers may even be juggling paid work with their unpaid caring responsibilities at home.
