VSA Carers Centre Aberdeen

A carer is someone of any age who provides unpaid support to family or friends who could not manage without this help. This could be caring for a relative, partner or friend who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or substance misuse problems.

Carers may even be juggling paid work with their unpaid caring responsibilities at home. The term carer should not be confused with a care worker, or care assistant, who receives payment for looking after someone.

At VSA Carers Centre we provide information, advice and support to carers within the Aberdeen City area. The Carers Centre is based in Belmont Street Aberdeen and we undertake outreach work in local communities to enable greater access to our services. We also have the Carers Information Point at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and VSA Carers Support Service (Mental Health) at Royal Cornhill Hospital. We have a range of services for carers; information; newsletters; one to one support; counselling and life coaching; benefits advice; carers support groups; complimentary therapies; specific support for carers of people with mental health problems, parent carers and male carers; talks, workshops and training for carers. We would welcome your enquiries either by email, telephone or through visiting the Carers Centre. We can undertake home visits if you are unable to get to the Carers Centre. Please contact us for more information.
