Holding your own event

Organising a fundraising event can be one of the most rewarding, worthwhile and fun things you will ever do. No matter how much you raise, you can be sure that you are helping us to make a real difference to thousands of carers in desperate need of support.

Carers Trust’s experienced Events Organisers are happy to chat to you to offer advice and encouragement, whatever you want to do, to help you make your event a success. We can also provide sponsorship forms, t-shirts, information about Carers Trust’s work, balloons, collecting boxes, invitation cards, posters – and even training advice, should you want to get active.

From jumping out of a plane, to a sponsored head shave, from a glitzy ball to bring and buy sales – the world is your oyster, so go on, get creative. Before you have more of a think about what you might like to do, please first take a look at our Tips for raising money safely.

Here are a few ideas:

Setting up your online fundraising page

A personal fundraising page can save you time and effort collecting sponsorship from friends and family. Instead of sending you cash and cheques, they can donate securely and tax-efficiently on your page by credit or debit card. The money is sent directly to your charity’s bank account, benefiting the charity earlier and saving you time spent collecting after the event. It also allows you to contact all your friends, family & colleagues no matter where they are in the world.

Remember, everything you raise will help us to continue our unique work reaching out to thousands of carers across the UK, as well as helping to increase awareness of the difficulties that carers can face.

Contact our Events team at events@carers.org for further information on how you can support Carers Trust by holding your own event.
