The Princess Royal Trust Glasgow West Carers Centre

Carers are wives, husbands, partners, parents, daughters, sons, friends or neighbours who look after a relative or friend of any age who:

  • Is physically ill
  • Is mentally ill
  • Is disabled
  • Has a learning disability
  • Is elderly and frail

If you are looking after a relative or friend at home, yours or theirs, then you are a carer.

Caring for someone is often rewarding but can be demanding and isolating. You may be worried about money or your own health; you may want someone to talk with about your situation or you may need practical or emotional support.
