Carers Week 2007

Carers Week logo Carers Week this year is taking place from 11 - 17 June 2007 to highlight the true impact being a carer can have on everyday life.

Coping with the pressures of every day life can be a challenge for most people, but this is especially the case for the UK’s six million carers who have dedicated their lives to caring for a loved one.

The effects of caring are incredibly tough on many areas of life - you may find yourself struggling to make ends meet, missing out on opportunities at work and your relationships may suffer. However it can also be a rewarding experience, which is what keeps many carers going day to day.

There are numerous events and activities taking place during Carers Week to help raise awareness.

Once again, our Norwich Union sponsored Break for Carers will see over 1,000 carers and their families enjoy a break at Pontins in Blackpool. Now in its sixth year, this event gives carers, many who haven't had a break for years, a chance to spend a week enjoying a well earned respite break.
